Our questions:

How do biochemical and mechanical signals from the extracellular matrix influence gene expression, determining cell proliferation/quiescence and differentiation?


Why quiescence regulation goes awry in cancer?


How do cells dynamically integrate complex signals during  vertebrate organ development?


How do diverse cell types collaborate to build epithelial tissues with intricate geometries, such as mammary glands, prostate, lung, kidney, and salivary glands and why this regulation is lost in cancer?


Our approach:

We use a multidisciplinary approach, combining 3D cell cultures, mouse and zebrafish models, molecular biology, bioinformatics, fluorescence microscopy and  quantitative biology to decode the four-dimensional complexity of biology.
